Murray A. Mann, Principal

Murray A. Mann is a nationally respected thought leader in human resource and diversity-inclusion management stewardship, with 30+ years of experience in senior positions in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. In 2010-12, he was named the National Society of Hispanic MBAs’ (NSHMBA) recipient of the Brillante Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence, Career Directors International’s Career Innovator Award, Chicago Association of Minority Recruiters’(CAMR) Entrepreneur of the Year, and Latinos in Social Media’s (LATISM) Best Latin@ Business Blogger.

Murray co-founded Global Diversity Solutions Group LLC to create systemic and sustainable organizational change that builds high performing inclusive workplaces. He then launched and to evolve multicultural careers from job search to the C-suite.

Murray co-authored Barron’s The Complete Job Search Guide for Latinos. His articles and interviews have been featured in 40+ publications, radio, and television. As a sought-after speaker, Murray has presented at 25 major HR, diversity and career conferences. He recently spoke at TEDx AdamsMorgan on Crowdsourcing Diversity to Inclusion.

Murray is a founding board member of the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) and soon-to-be- launched Society of Latinos in Human Resources (SOLHR). He currently serves on the board of the International Coach Federation-Chicago, advisory board for the Workplace Coach Institute. Previously, Murray led initiatives with the former President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities and held leadership positions with several multicultural associations, career management organizations and employee resource groups.


Rose Mary Bombela-Tobias, Principal

Rose Mary Bombela-Tobias is a nationally recognized executive, management consultant, journalist, and public speaker. Rose Mary is a first generation Latina who has consistently achieved extraordinary results in the public, not-for-profit, and private sectors.

Rose Mary was the first Latino in Illinois to be appointed to the Governor’s Cabinet as director of the Department of Human Rights. She also served as assistant director of the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, assistant director of the Illinois Department of Personnel, and vice president / executive director of Central States SER, Jobs for Progress, Inc. Additionally, Rose Mary pioneered and managed the multi-million dollar Illinois Business Enterprise Program for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities.

Rose Mary is an award-winning radio news anchor, talk show host, producer, and reporter. Rose Mary was listed in Today’s Chicago Woman Magazine as one of “100 Women to Watch” and received recognition awards from the National Network of Hispanic Women and the Midwest Women’s Center. She also received public service awards from various civic and Latino organizations including the American GI Forum (one of the nation’s largest Hispanic service organizations), and is Illinois State Director of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).


Pat Kendall, NCRW, JCTC, Director Multicultural Resume Services

Pat Kendall is a Nationally Certified Resume Writer (NCRW) with 25+ years’ experience developing resumes and personal marketing tools. As principal of Advanced Resume Concepts (est. 1984), Pat Kendall has written more than 10,000 resumes for job seekers in all professions. An early leader in field of electronic and keyword-based resumes, Pat offers an “in the trenches” knowledge of the web-based job market. Pat served as president, vice president, regional representative, and certification chair of the National Resume Writers’ Association (NRWA). She launched and administered the NRWA Certification Program for resume writing. Pat is the author of Jumpstart Your Online Job Search (Prima Publishing), coauthor of McGraw-Hill’s eResumes: Everything You Need to Know, and contributor to The Complete Job Search Guide for Latinos (Barrons).

Adela Peña, M.Ed, JCTC, Director Multicultural Career Management Services

With more than 18 years of proven results in career center leadership in the private and academic sectors, Adela Peña has led the development of programs for the University of Illinois at Chicago, DePaul University, and Michigan State University. She currently serves as Director of Multicultural Career Management Services for the award-winning Global Diversity Solutions Group LLC (GDSG).

Throughout her career, Adela has successfully launched innovative career programs that have consistently improved multicultural client or student success and have been replicated at organizations throughout the country.

Adela has led more than 25 major initiatives, including: co-developed online career services for the Professional Diversity Network’s AMightyRiver, Education 2 Career (E2C), iHispano and Women’s Career Channels;launched a comprehensive six-week pre-matriculation academic preparation program for graduate level students. The program achieved 100% retention and satisfaction rating at the University of Illinois School of Public Health. She conceived, designed and co-presented culturally focused career management workshops for multicultural and international students. In addition Adela designed and presented cultural competency training for international teaching assistants at Michigan State University and pioneered the Michigan International Careers Consortium.
